Speeches

We are doing our yearly speech cycle at school. Every year students [have to] write speeches and present them to either the upper or lower school depending on what grade you are in [this starts in THIRD grade]. In the Upper school it is a competition. You start out by giving your speech in front of your class and the students and the teachers pick one or two people to go to semi- finals [ those are next Tuesday and I didn't even finish mine yet!!]. In semi- finals about two or three are picked for finals where you compete with the other finalists.

Last year I made it to the finals and competed with ninth graders [I was in sixth]. One of my classmates won the whole thing and it was really fun except that by the finals I had heard it three times. :]

Well anyways My parents are out and I am actually supposed to be finishing it right now...

PS I had a swim meet the other day and something amazing happened, I'll go into further details later :]

Sincerely,
D

Lemonade Award

Wow, thanks Pouty Baby. I saw this award on some peoples' blogs a couple of months ago and I thought it was awesome.

Anyways here are the rules :

"The Lemonade Award is for sites, which show great attitude and/or gratitude!
Rules for the award:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.

2. Nominate at least 10 blogs, which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Nominate your favorites and link to this post."

Okay, I don't know about ten.. but I will nominate/ give (??) it to these five

1.) Pouty Baby's Nonsense. How could I not! first of all she gave the award to me (lol that's not why though don't worry Pouty) Pouty is hysterical and never ceases to make me laugh my head off. My fave post by her is AND THE OSCAR GOES TO "HAPPY BLOG-IVERSARY BABY" I loved that video!

2.) Queen Of Haartz amazing writing with touching stories. My favorite post by Denise is Twilight Series is Astounding wow I love Edward Cullen, but those of you who have Twilight already know exactly why.

3.) a little bit of my life one of my favorite personal blogs, Jackie talks about her everyday life whatnot with her community- famous family, and skating, and how she really feels about swimming (her dad is a swim coach) However I hope that she will not stop blogging like she says in her most recent post. :[ maybe this award will cheer her up!!

4.) My Pink Sprinkled Blog. Kate is an absolutely "fabbity fab " blogger from Ireland. Kate shares her wisdom, chatter [my fave], DIY's, and other musings with a great writing flair. My favorite post by Kate is Get it done, girlfriend!!! wow, that post captured my life :]

5.) Skittle Goes Blog Tessa is a photographer, and hopefully soon- published author [*my fingers are crossed*]. Tessa shares her daily mini epiphanies, shards of wisdom, and daily highlights, and sometimes even her awesome photography. My favorite post by Tessa is disney land... :) hooray. I loved the story about her keeping running into a really cute guy.

And I would like to thank a blog called the Stylista Police, without them I would have never started blogging [even if I did start out of vengance.]

If pants could kill... well they do now

I found some pants that would kill me today. I was looking around on the Bloomingdale's and I was looking at the leggings and pants section. I found a really tight pair of shiny black pants that Joe Jonas would probably wear :p

I decided to get a closer look. These pants are called "Aqua Women's Latex Liquid Leggings". Jokingly I asked if I could have them for my birthday.

"Sure I'll get those pants for you, let me just go get some life insurance"

"What do you mean" I asked.

"If you have too much exposure to latex, you would get an Anaphylactic Reaction and most likely die"

Awesome.

In Other News

-I completed day 3 on the President's Challenge
-Blair is getting expelled from Constance Billard [I think....]

Frozen Bubbles :]

It started with a bubble falling down on a cold (cold, cold, cold cold, cold, you get the idea) day er, morning. I was about eight years old and I couldn't understand why this would be "so cool". The bubble began to freeze in the air as it fell, and lingered toward the ground. The bubble dropped to the ground and shattered. Some of the others just dropped on the ground and rolled down a slope of snow for about 30 seconds. (long story longer,) I was hooked and still continue to to this. It may be small but, small thrills can be the best :]

In Other News:

-I finally mastered rainbow road (the hardest level) in Mario Kart

-Frogman is going to Disney for Gallery Shows & Signings (I LOVE his miniature frog collection)
-It is finally the weekend :]

Cheap Annoyances and Solutions

I found myself punching out the 3-D glasses in the current TV Guide for the Best of Both Worlds video. Of course, I was hopeful that my glasses from the movie theater would work, because they were obviously much better quality. Just incase though, these were my back up pair. of course we all know hundreds of thousands of these were made, so what is the probibility that thaey were going to be great quality.
So the night of the movie I invited my friend (D) over and and we both had our movie glasses, and TV Guide glasses, praying that the Theater ones would work. Well you know how it goes, we tried on the Theater glasses, of course no different from regular vision. So, we put on our TV Guide glasses despite the fact that they were completely broken. We held them up to our faces for about five minutes, at which point we had given up.
But after about two minutes of disappointment, we decided to make a solution. We took the middle pieces of our glasses, held them up to the good glasses, put them both on together, and voila! We used our problem (broken paper glasses) and combined them with the good pair and we had glasses that stayed on and worked just as good as in the theater.
So the next time your watching a 3D movie at hove with your paper 3D glasses, grab a pair of plastic sunglasses and combine the two. Enjoy!

Sincerely
J
